Our 50th Anniversary: What to do for a very special journey together? We had differences as to a destination so Susan Tanzman, at Martin’s Travel solved this problem, as she has in the past, by creating another exceptional experience for us to enjoy.
Fiji. Why Fiji? Susan recognized our travel desires from prior trips and conversations and knew these islands would satisfy both our wishes for time alone, our need for physical activity and our desire to see and understand the local people and culture.
How? The numerous islands of Fiji offer different tropical settings: from the more lush and flowery high forests and secluded beaches which we experienced at the amazingly private and friendly Savasi Island Resort near Savusavu, with a fabulous chef, to the more open drier island of Yasawa with its incredibly white beaches, coconut palms and multi-hued water. The Yasawa Island Resort offered privacy and multiple activities including snorkeling, diving or boat trips to remote beaches with champagne lunches and hours alone.
Susan’s selection of resorts more than met our individual needs. We will never forget the local Fijian people, their friendliness, and sincere desire for us to enjoy their country and culture. We were met by local representatives at each arrival or for departures, alleviating any concern as to where we went next.
An Island alone with only the sounds of waves and occasional coconuts falling, exploring, meeting the people and the natural beauty left us with feeling of how can we be so lucky to have had this exceptional experience?
Thank you Susan and Martin’s Travel for your knowledge, skill and attention to our needs.
We recently returned from our business/vacation trip to Hawaii which was arranged by Martin's Trave in Los Angeles. We are so thankful we read about Martin's Travel's expertise with Hawaii in Conde Nast Traveler. Our trip was perfect down to every last detail. The hotel and dining reservations were just what we wanted. Our local tour guide in Honolulu, Elika, was great as was the helicopter tour on Kawai. Wherever we turned for our next adventure, everything was in proper order, we were expected and we were treated very well. We have traveled much the last decade and highly recommend without reservation Martin's Travel for Hawaii.
We just returned from our 2 week honeymoon in Hawaii (we visited the Big Island, Maui and Kauai). We worked with Susan for months to plan this trip, and she was absolutely incredible. We are so thankful that we found Susan through CN Traveler, as we would not have been able to plan such an incredible trip on our own.
Susan took the time to get to know to my husband and me, what we like / do not like to do, etc., so that she could plan the ideal trip for us. Each island and hotel had something different to offer, and she made sure we had an opportunity to use the best tour companies / dine at the best restaurants in each location. For example, in Maui, Susan set us up with this incredible tour guide (Richard) to take us along the Road to Hana, as we didn't want to drive on our own. What a smart move. We were extremely grateful to have Richard there with us, as it wouldn't have been the same experience with my husband concentrating on the road the whole time, missing out on the incredible sites. In short, our trip included a few activities (a sailing / snorkeling trip to the island of Lanai from Maui; Road to Hana in Maui; and a volcano tour on the Big Island) coupled with pure relaxation, which is exactly what we wanted. And while there were many companies to choose from for the activities, Susan hand-picked the ones we used, which were simply the best.
In terms of hotels, we stayed at the Mauna Kea on the Big Island, the Four Seasons in Maui, and the St. Regis Princeville in Kauai. Every hotel knows Susan well and ensures her clients get the best treatment. We truly felt special while we were there.
We are so extremely thankful to Susan and her team at Martins Travel. While they work with so many different people on a daily basis, Susan made us feel like we were her only client.
While our honeymoon may be over, this is not the last time we will be working with Susan, as we are already talking about our next trip to Hawaii! ;-)
