Susan Tanzman, founder and President of Martin's Travel and Tours gave a speech to support ALS to the travel industry in Hawaii. Starwood Hotels all 11 properties committed to the walk on Sept 6, 2014 on Oahu. Attending were representatives from Kahala Resort and Hotel, Hilton Hawaii and Mark Murphy from Agent@Home Magazine and others.
My trip to Hawaii to celebrate my Mom's 90th Birthday was the perfect trip for us and the entire family. We had. A fantastic time on the Big Island with a beautiful room at the Mauna Kea. The dinner on Mothers Day at Brown's at the Fairmont was great. The service could not be any better and the sunrise was painted just for us. I love that island. Off to Kauai and took my son Darin and my Mom on the Island Helicopter Water Landing Adventure and it was spectacular. Our stay at the Sr. Regis was as wonderful as it always is......what a view from this hotel. We had a great dinner at Bar Acuda but do not ask my Mom or sin about dinner the first night . You hear about restaurants and you should try them. Found one I would nicer go back to unless you are dieting and do not want to eat.
At least I know where not to send a client. I,also want to rave about the interisland flights on Hawaiian. If someone is in a wheel chair I think they are the best at taking care of them. They were fantast.....kudos to Hawaiian. Then we arrived home to the Kahala where my 'om actually had the red carpet out for her arrival. Her 90th Birthday was reported with picture and all in the Honolulu Star Advertiser. I knew my Mom was special but boy she made the top on this trip. Her party was wonderful and she shared with so many people that she cares about and has known for years. Our stay was perfect and she did not really want to come home. The Kahala is home to the Tanzman family and will a,ways have special memories of so many events for this family. Thank you Kahala for welcoming us home and sharing your Aloha with our family.. We love all of you and feel honored to be apart of your Ohana.
I am sitting in Oahu looking out my room at the beautiful ocean and staying at the Kahala. I have been in meetings for two days and this is the first time I have had time just to stare at the beautiful ocean. I came over just to start the planning for the ALS Walk in Sept. we met with different organizations who service ALS and are trying to coordinate our efforts so we can provide better services to the patients and their families. I feel like we have definitely made progress he and I feel so good with trying to make a difference for those with this disease. I feel like my time spent is so rewarding and I will continue to be very involved. I do want all my fiends in Hawaii to join me on Sept 6 th for the walk. I want to have a team of 100 friends so we can make a difference. All of the money raised last year at the Hawaii Walk has been allocated to Hawaii ALS services. Being apart of this is truly a blessing and I feel privileged to be here and to make a difference. I will be home tomorrow to start working hard on this project. Aloha to all my friends from the beautiful Island of Oahu.
